Every Dollar (or Towel, or Pet Toy, or Bag of food) makes a world of difference in a struggling pet shelter!
I once worked in a city animal shelter. The number of pets that ended up in just that one shelter was heartbreaking and the number of them that were not adopted by their 7th day and were euthanized was tragic. I went home every night and cried. It was an absolutely gut-wrenching and tragic reality I ever had to face.
I saw firsthand the enormous impact each donation made, no matter how big or small. And If you can't donate cash, there are a gazillion other ways to help!

It's stuff we keep under the sink, in the attic or cellar or garage and end up throwing away. Think about all the old blankets, linens, towels, clothes, and even curtains we toss in the trash. I bet they'd rather sleep on those instead of a wire cage or freezing cold cement floor!
So, clean out your closets, check under your sink and I'm sure you'll find something you can donate today!!
Call your local shelter before getting rid of ANY of these:
- old towels, linens, blankets
- Old pet beds
- Paper towels, rubber gloves, hand sanitizer, and bleach
- Baby or pet shampoo
- Feeding bowls, collars, and leashes
Volunteer just 1 or 2 hours a week to...take a few dog-walks, give a bath, or play/socialize with a lonely pet...remember-human contact is of the utmost importance!
